I know it is Thursday but it feels like FRIDAY.
Just skippin through life looking at all of the wonderful things put in our path. Today I am getting to my usual stuff when it hit me that I could just pretend it is Friday and relax as I go into the weekend. I know I haven't finished the stuff I would like to but I also know this is not a race. You see, I have learned over time that when I get to it, and when I get it done it is "Right on Time". I see so many people hurrying to get places and get things done that I know they are burning themselves out. Burn Out is what we do not have time for! Whoever you are, what ever you are doing is where you belong today. Have you ever thought about what happens in the world if you are not here tomorrow? oh yes I know many many people are sad because of it but beyond that, What does the world do if you are no longer in it? Let's look at it. Lets say tomorrow you decide to live in Costa Rica. You pack up the things you think you will need and take with you only the most important things. What would you take? Awards, Plaques from work, Pictures of Family, money, cloths?? What is so important you can not live without it? ok so now that you have that together, you begin your trip. Drive to the airport and give away your car.... lol... Well, are you coming back??? ok so maybe you give away your car to the person you want to have it and they drive you to the airport. Now in my case I take along my wife of 30 years and ??? hum ??? I guess everyone else will either come to live with me or visit when they can. I think I will go ahead this first trip down there and drive the motor home. I can take allot of things with me and take my time on the trip. So I guess I will take years of life memories that still have some meaning to me. So, we arrive in Costa Rica. Our new home is waiting for us and the cost of living is so low that we no longer need to work at all. Now lets take a look at what we left behind? Do you have people who will miss you dearly? I hope so.... Do you leave behind a place you call home however most people in America still have a mortgage so they need to sell that house so they do not need to pay for it any longer. Hopefully there is some money left over for you to invest to help you live off of the Interest. But what else happens when your gone? Will the things you thought were so important a week ago get taken care of by someone else? Most likely or they are not really that important. So the world as you know it continues without you. Hopefully you made a difference. Hopefully you made a mark somewhere. Hopefully you made life easier because of something you got changed that wasn't right or you had something of real value built to help many many lives from now on. Because of you if you hadn't worked on that project it may not have ever been done because you were the one who picked up the torch and carried it until the work was done. Or maybe you have been the support for others who have done those things. Either way, you have done something in your life that meant something to you at the time. You see, we all belong here at this moment in time. You are important because you are a part of something much greater than yourself. You do impact someone of many people because you are alive at this moment and are where you belong. Once you have finished a part of your life it will be time to move onto something else. First you go to kindergarten and then to grade school, junior high, high school, college, Life, Marriage, mother and fatherhood, Stress of meeting deadlines and Bills. Helping your kids go through that process that you have already gone through...For me this last year it was becoming a grandparent at age 50.... That was not something I wanted to become but now that I am I can not imagine life without these wonderful babies in it. So today I leave you with, you are where you belong at this moment. If you do not get done today what you hope to get done, you can do it tomorrow. It will still be there. If you want today to be Friday and begin a long weekend, Enjoy your time to look at the Sky, listen to the birds sing and feel the breeze on your face. God is good and he knows what is happening to you and where you are today.... Enjoy the ride.. |
